A Place to Belong. A Place to Grow.
What we believe
At The Grove, we are a Christ-centred, Bible-believing church. Everything we do is rooted in the good news that God loves the world and has made a way for people to know Him through Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit is active and at work today, drawing people to faith, transforming lives, equipping believers, and enabling the Church to continue the mission of Jesus.
-
We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are equal in glory, majesty, and power, sharing one divine nature, yet each distinct in person. Together they are the one true God, worthy of all worship, honour, and obedience.
-
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is God's inspired Word. Written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is completely trustworthy and the supreme authority for faith and life, revealing God's character, His purposes, and His plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
-
We believe every person is created in the image of God and deeply loved by Him. We are created for relationship with God and with one another.
-
We believe that sin separates people from God and that all have fallen short of His perfect standard. We are therefore in need of God's forgiveness, grace and redemption.
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. Through His life, death on the cross and bodily resurrection, He made a way for people to be reconciled to God and receive eternal life.
-
We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. It cannot be earned but is freely offered to all.
-
We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, bringing new life, helping us grow in Christlikeness and empowering us to live for God. We believe the Holy Spirit continues to work today through His presence, power and gifts for the strengthening of the Church and the witness of the Gospel.
-
We believe the Church is the family of God and the body of Christ. We are called to worship God, grow as disciples, care for one another and share the hope of Jesus with the world.
-
We believe every follower of Jesus is called to participate in God's mission, making disciples and demonstrating His love through word and action in our communities and beyond.
-
We believe that Jesus Christ will return to make all things new. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, the fulfilment of God's Kingdom and eternal life in His presence.
-
We believe that God created us for relationship with Himself and with one another. We believe that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman and that God's design for relationships, sexuality, and family life is good. We are committed to welcoming all people with love, grace, and respect as together we seek to follow Jesus and live in the light of His teaching.
United around Jesus
While we hold firmly to the core truths of the Christian faith, we recognise that faithful Christians may hold different views on some secondary matters. In a spirit of grace and humility, we seek unity around the gospel, the authority of Scripture, and the lordship of Jesus Christ.
"For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 3:11)
